Paddy Power Rainbow Riches Free Play
Rainbow Riches has been one of the most popular slots online. Drop into any casino and the Irish themed game will always be amongst the top slots. Joining them in the mix are the recent flurry of Megaways games. So what would happen if you took the Barcrest game and married it to the Megaways engine? The answer is Rainbow Riches Megaways and it's now available to play.
Like Raging Rhino's conversion, Rainbow Riches Megaways sticks to the look and feel of the original slot. The slot is set on a green grassy background that is dominated by a rainbow with a pot of gold. The traditional 'Riches leprechaun surprisingly doesn't feature. The main icons are jewels and playing card symbols (10, J, Q, K, and A). The diamond on a red background pays the most with x50 for 6 of a kind.
- The Rainbow Riches Free €2 offer is open to all Paddy Power Games customers who enter the Promo code ‘RAINBOW’ and play Rainbow Riches between 13:00 Monday 7th October and 19:30:00 Saturday 12th October 2013. Free Bets will be credited as Rainbow Riches Free Bets that may be used on the Rainbow Riches game only up until 19:30 on the 12th.
- One of the most popular video slots in the UK. Dates back to 2005, making it one of the first online slots to hit the casinos. Consistently ranks in the top three at Paddy Power Games, as well as other prominent Rainbow Riches slot sites. It’s the ever-popular 20-line Rainbow Riches from Barcrest and it has 3 bonuses to spike your attention.
Paddy Power will even give you a Welcome bonus that leaves you with a £30 bonus to play with – amazingly at the point of reviewing Rainbow Riches Bingo, Paddy Power Bingo offered 7 days of free bingo in the newbie room where someone could win a share of over £10,000.
How To Play Rainbow Riches Megaways
Megaways slots boast six reels. To achieve a win line icons need to appear on adjacent reels. However, unlike a tradition slot those icons don't need to be touching each other. A Megaways slot also features different sized icons. These don't effect the payouts but alter the number of win lines - or Megaways - that are available. The number of win lines is determined by multiplying the number of icons on each reel.
Wagering on Rainbow Riches Megaways starts at just 20p per spin. This can be increased to just £20 when wagering at Rainbow Riches Casino, Heart Bingo, Jackpotjoy or Virgin Games. Other casino and slot sites may have different wagering levels. Rainbow Riches does have an autoplay option. This allows you to set a specific number of spins as well as disable the feature based on wins or losses.

Rainbow Riches Megaways Features
Rainbow Riches Megaways is pretty much like Bonanza Megaways and Raging Rhino Megaways but with simplistic icons versus animals and goldmines. Get at least four Rainbow Riches scatter symbols anywhere on the reels to win 12 free spins. During this bonus round you earn unlimited win multipliers. Additionally extra spins can be won if three or more scatter symbols appear on the reels during the free spins rounds.
The Megaways feature is also part of the game, but like Bonanza and Raging Rhino cascading reels are also involved. When a win occurs the winning symbols are removed and new symbols drop in. This occurs for the symbols at the top of reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Cascading reels will continue during a turn until there are no more win lines.
The Verdict
If you like Bonanza or Raging Rhino Megaways, then you'll like Rainbow Riches as it's essentially the same game with different graphics. Like Bonanza, Rainbow Riches is fun and exciting to play. The look is as you'd anticipate for a Rainbow Riches game. The Megaways engine does elevate the humble slot into something new and interesting. The addition of the cascading reels adds extra spice and can help generate decent sized wins. The free spins bonus round is a good feature, but a rarity in reality.
We found that Rainbow Riches Megaways struggled to generate big or small wins. The cascading reels often generated one or two wins, but rarely did they extend to symbols on reels 4, 5 and 6. The RTP of this slot is 96% but we'd suggest this is a high volatile game that's accessible on mobile, desktop and tablet. Overall we found this to be a fun game to play. We suspect that it will be another worthy addition to the Megaways and Rainbow Riches games families.

Friends Slingo Review
With St Patrick's Day coming up later this week we thought we'd take a look at a slot game with an Irish theme. Well, we say Irish theme it has leprechauns in it. Rainbow Riches is one of the most well known slot games and it features at the likes of Sky Vegas, Betfred, bgo.com and Paddy Power. Note that you may have to look under 'games' to locate it on some sites.
Rainbow Riches is a 20 line 5 reel slot from Barcrest Games. It features the usual Ace, King, Jack and Queen icons alongside leprechauns, wishing wells and pots of gold. You can choose to play from 1 to 20 lines as well various coin sizes per line. You can play from 1p to £20 a line!
How To Play Rainbow Riches Slot
As with all slots the aim is to get a big win line or to hit the bonus rounds. There are three bonus rounds for Rainbow Riches - the Road to Riches Bonus, the Wishing Well Bonus and Pots of Gold Bonus. During our road testing we only managed to pick up the Road to Riches bonus and the Wishing Well.
The Road to Riches is a pathway scattered with multipliers - you spin the dial and head along the path until you 'collect'. The bonus is the your stake times by the multiplier value. Interestingly we hit this bonus three times and each time never got past the x14 mark. The end of the rainbow x200 bonus was a long long way away!
Rainbow Riches Bonus Features
The Wishing Well bonus was even less exciting. When this feature comes you are asked to choose from 3, 4 or 5 wells. You receive your stake times by the multiplier you reveal. The only thing we liked about this was that you get to see the other values you missed out on. Unfortunately the Pots of Gold bonus eluded us!
Whilst this game may be 'lengendary' (according to the blurb on Betfred) we found it to be a little disappointing. It's nice to look at graphically but it soon lost any gloss - perhaps that's because the wins and bonus features were quite limited. We don't expect gold at the end of the rainbow or every spin but the occasional decent win (more than 50p) would have been nice. Overall it was good fun whilst it lasted but we'll be spinning for our riches elsewhere.
